You Need Downtime In Your Life

#PROTIP – factor in downtime

I like to work

I enjoy what I do

But looking back over the last few years I’d noticed a cycle of periods of extended grind…

…then I would get an injury, get ill or in my ‘goose days’; would have a wobble

Now?

Hardly ever

OFF time is equally as important as ON time; there are people more qualified than me but the link between your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems – is amazing

(Smart people please feel free to add more info in here – been a while since I’ve studied that since my CSCS days…)

Since I have factored in more downtime I have

– been more ‘level’
– have come up with some of my best ideas
– has defo contributed to weight loss/sleep improvement and overall stress reduction

If you are NOT putting time (and I admit when you are growing a business it is hard but even a half day or an evening or something – is better than nothing) aside to be DOWN

Trust me it will mess you up

Your downtime and my downtime could be very different

Could be a nice all in the country and a pub lunch with a book …

Binge watching your favourite series on Netflix…

Date night with a hottie…

As long as you DONT RESPOND TO WORK STUFF

Whatever tickles your pickle I say

(And that’s perfectly acceptable too ha)

I get all my fancy hotels on secret escapes or late rooms for a fraction of the price

I book loads of treatments and trips and treats for me on sites like groupon

That and I’m rather charming and always try blag free things 😉
